The Ricky Gervais Show
This site is dedicated to providing the complete set of episodes from the XFM radio show, featuring Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington. The Ricky Gervais Show started off on XFM, the alternative London-based radio station in 2001. It was here, at XFM where Ricky and Steve first met Karl. The trio, who have been talking drivel ever since, later went on to create one of the most downloaded podcast series in internet history. The Ricky Gervais Show is also available as a free video podcast and audiobook on iTunes and in 2010, the first season of the Ricky Gervais show was adapted into a HBO animation.
See how it all began...
Download every episode from season one to four of the XFM Vault for free or stream them directly to your computer.
Portal 2
Valve has just confirmed that Steve Merchant will star in Portal 2 as the voice of Wheatley, the English-accented personality sphere. "Money for old rope" as Steve has often said... Guess Karl didn't take the message for him this time.
New animated series promo
Ricky, Steve and Karl were interviewed by Channel 4 at the launch of The Ricky Gervais Show animated television series. During this short 10 minute promo they the discuss group dynamics, the education of Karl over last few years and reminisce about some of the old XFM features such as knob news, rock busters and monkey news. Well worth the download - http://short.ie/pu70a3
Just been flattr'd
Just noticed that somebody “flattered” one of the episodes on the site. In case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve added a flattr button to all of the episode pages. Flattr is a new micropayment platform that lets you “show love for the things you like”. Hosting this site costs a good bit of money, especially when the bandwidth goes into the terabytes every month. I’ve been kicked off a few “unlimited bandwidth” hosts in the past and need all the help I can get...
Every click may just be a few cent, but if a few people contribute it will certainly help to pay the bills every month.
Karl Pilkington - an idiot abroad
Ok, so the site is back up and running again. I've just spent the last few days optimising the site and rewriting scripts. Turns out that quite a few websites were leeching our bandwidth and bypassing all ads by hotlinking directly to the XFM episodes. These ads are the only form of revenue this site has at the moment and are badly needed to pay the hosting bills.
In other news, the name for Karl's upcoming TV show has been finalised... it's called, an idiot abroad.
Site Downtime
Just noticed that I have exceeded my monthly bandwidth limit again. I have moved the site to a temporary location for the time being, so some of the links may be broken for the next few days. I have started optimising the site so hopefully this wont happen again. I just cant afford to upgrade to a better hosting package at the moment... lets see how July goes first :P
Guide to the world cup
The recently announced bonus podcast The Ricky Gervais Guide To The World Cup has just been released! Enjoy 45 minutes of Ricky, Steve and Karl very loosely discussing the international sporting event. It is the number one podcast in the world this week with over 2 million downloads. For more drivel, and dribbling anecdotes, go to iTunes and download it from there, free of charge.
The FAME Podcast
Just noticed that iTunes put up the Ricky Gervais FAME podcast a few days ago, free of charge. It was recorded on CD, given as a souvenir for everyone who attended his standup in 2007. So if you're up for 40 minutes of some more drivel with Karl, Ricky and Steve, then download the podcast directly from the iTunes store - http://short.ie/vdzgbp
